The Tangent table is one of a series of new designs to be made in small batches. It utilises familiar native materials and traditional techniques to produce something that is unique. It consists of a toughened glass top supported by four identical steam-bent ash bows. These are attached to steel fittings bonded to the underneath of the top and arranged to produce a single structure that is a bit like a classic bicycle - very simple, elegant and fit for purpose. From some angles it looks very architectural and others quite animalistic.
